2large eggs
2 1/4cups280g all-purpose flour
1teaspoonbaking soda
1/2teaspoonsalt
2cups340g semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat the Oven and Prepare the Baking Sheet
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent the cookies from sticking.
Cream the Butter and Sugars
In a large bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Use a hand mixer or a whisk to beat the mixture until it’s light and fluffy. This usually takes about 2-3 minutes.
Add the Eggs
Once the butter and sugar mixture is smooth, add the eggs one at a time. Beat well after each addition to ensure the eggs are fully incorporated.
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients while stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula. Mix until the dough comes together.
Fold in the Chocolate Chips
Now comes the fun part! Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough. Be sure not to overmix, as this can affect the texture of the cookies.
Scoop the Dough
Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, portion out the dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Leave about 2 inches between each scoop to give the cookies room to spread as they bake.
Bake the Cookies
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until they’re golden brown around the edges but still soft in the center. Keep an eye on them towards the end, as oven temperatures may vary.
Cool the Cookies
Once the cookies are baked to perfection, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes. After that, transfer them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
