Equipment

  • Electric hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Spatula
  • Freezer-safecontainer (2.5-liter capacity)

Ingredients

  • 1 can 397g sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons orange extract
  • 30 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 600 ml double cream heavy cream
  • 1 Terry’s Chocolate Orange or 200g milk chocolate with orange flavor, chopped into small pieces

Instructions

Prepare the Flavor Base

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, orange extract, and cocoa powder. Stir until the cocoa powder is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

Whip the Cream

  • In a separate bowl, whip the double cream using an electric mixer until it reaches soft peaks. This means the cream should hold its shape but still have a slight droop at the tip.

Combine the Mixtures

  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cocoa-condensed milk mixture using a spatula. Be careful not to deflate the cream; fold until just combined.

Add the Chocolate

  • Fold in the chopped Terry’s Chocolate Orange pieces, reserving a few for topping.

Freeze

  • Transfer the mixture into a freezer-safe container, smoothing the top with a spatula. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.

Serve

  • Before serving, let the ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly for easier scooping. Serve in bowls or cones, topped with the reserved chocolate pieces.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh orange zest and high-quality cocoa or dark chocolate. Chill the mixture thoroughly before churning to ensure a smooth texture.
You can also add chocolate chips or candied orange peel for extra texture and a gourmet touch. Perfect for special occasions or everyday indulgence!
