  • 2/3 cup butter-flavored shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 12 oz milk chocolate chips
  • 12 oz white chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

Cream the Butter and Sugars

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, butter-flavored shortening, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Eggs and Vanilla

  • Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients

Fold in Chocolate Chips

Portion the Dough

  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake the Cookies

Cool the Cookies

  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 2–3 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
